The Bwa Gwyn

The Isle of Anglesey has some amazing sights that you might not have been previously aware of, such as the amazing Rhoscolyn Beach, which has its very own sea arch! There are not many of these in North Wales, but the visually stunning Bwa Gwyn (White Arch) is such an amazing location. You can visit this and other locations all the time if you purchase caravans for sale north wales when you get the opportunity.

The Dingle (Nant y Pandy)

This lovely nature reserve is a little known woodland gem and retreat of nature surrounding where you can see Red Squirrels frolic in the trees, and even walk your dog.

Baron Hill, Beaumaris

This old abandoned manor house was once one of the premium homes overlooking the Menai Straits with prime views of the ocean and Snowdonia. However, nature has taken it back, now leaving a mere shell of its former self, but you can still recognise its designs. The trees have now crept and covered the once vast luscious lawn and the entire site is now a forest.

The history of Baron Hill is fascinating, once the ancestral home of the Bulkeley Family, it was requisitioned by the government when it became unaffordable for them to retain. It was then used as housing for Polish soldiers. As it was too cold, they burned it down so they would be moved elsewhere. The soldiers were moved to tents on the grounds. The house was destroyed and has been derelict to this day. Daring adventurers see it at their own risk.

Porthygwychiaid, Anglesey

If you want to enjoy some fresh ocean air in peace, then this secluded, shingle covered beach can be found amongst Anglesey’s eastern coast. It is quite small, best visited at low tide, and accessible via a public footpath.

Parys Mountain

This amazing copper mine makes for such a striking visage upon the hilltops of North Wales. Once the site of a gigantic copper mine which services all of the UK with fantastic quality copper it dominated the European copper market throughout the 1780s. These days it is an ethereal orange dreamscape, ripe for exploring.

Porth Wen Brickworks

Porth Wen Brickworks is, this day, a disused Victorian brickworks, in its heyday it produced fire bricks which are made from quartzite, these were lined around steel furnaces. The substantial remains include a vast complex of ruined walls. This site needs to be seen to be believed, it seems like a videogame backdrop or a fantasy film set. Perhaps most striking is the round buildings which are built with beautifully coloured bricks, some people even camp in here! Needless to say, this is one of Anglesey’s most amazing secrets.

Llanddwyn Island

This island has unparalleled scenic beauty, the island is a tidal one, so accessible by low tide only (unless you are up for some wading!). Those who venture here will be rewarded by amazing panoramic views, as well as views of an old, beautiful lighthouse that overlooks the cliffs below. It lies at the end of Newborough Beach, which is itself an amazing location to visit on all accounts.
