Anglesey’s reputation for food production is centuries old. Due to the unspoiled fertile agricultural land, the rich fishing waters and the mild climate, the Island’s farms and fisheries produce a wealth of excellent produce.

Since you are never far from the coast in Anglesey you will always find seafood on the menu. Quality shellfish as well as various species of seafish abound. Don’t miss the Island’s Oyster Festival if you’re about in October. This well established festival incorporates seafood and an eclectic mix of entertainment at various venues.
A highlight of the year is the Anglesey Oyster and Local Produce Festival in October when a host of food events and entertainment are organised across the island. The fast flowing waters of the Menai Strait is renowned for its world class oysters and mussels. Buy them at fishmongers, or sample them during the week of celebration every October.
