TexasGet on your boots and start clicking those spurs because the Anglesey Country and Western Festival looks like it could be a lot of fun in Cemaes Bay this year.

The same event in 2013 drew in quite the crowd with many people of all ages converging on the Wylfa area for a great celebration of all things country. You might not have North Wales as the first image that pops into your head when someone says country music but that’s exactly what the organisers of this great event are trying to change.

Some of the allure of last year’s festival has to come down to the fantastic array of acts which performed and delighted for all the dancers. Some of the names included Magill, Twin Falls, Travis Logan, Clear Cut and Chris James McKenzie with backing from the superb Rebel Country Disco. There was music for everyone and even though the line-up for this year’s festival isn’t readily available, it’s sure to be a step up from 2013 with even bigger names eager to take to the stage.

The festival will be situated at the Wylfa Sports & Social Club which is one of the most popular of its kind in the region and for good reason. Regularly hosting great events and activities for the whole family, it’s one of the best venues in Anglesey and for good reason.

Of course, no festival’s quite the same if you’re pitching up your tent indoors so you will be able claim your own patch outside to unwind in and listen to all the bands and dance away if you’d like to. Don’t forget to bring a partner for some swing and line dancing!

Tickets for the event from the 9th to 11th and May start from £8 with weekend entries available for £38 in total. If you require any further information on the Anglesey Country and Western Festival, please email: mgktaylor@yahoo.co.uk.
