Valley: Accommodation, Attractions, Activities, Going Out, Shopping, Things to Do, Places of Interest, Outdoors, Valley Holidays, Valley Area Location, North Wales.

Valley's name is thought to be derived from a cutting made by Telford during the engineering of the A5 in 1822.

Now, Valley is best known for the nearby RAF station, a flying training station and home to a search and rescue squadron.

In 1943, a chain used as a tractor coupling was found to be a piece of ancient Celtic ironwork, used to fetter the necks of slave gangs. Further investigation of the lake at Llyn Cerrig Bach revealed a wealth of treasure: swords, spears, scabbards, shield bosses, chariot remains and other artefacts. These items date from the height of the Celtic era (2nd century BC to the 1st century AD), just before the time of the Roman occupation. Thought to be offerings to the gods, most are now in the care of the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, with some to be found in Oriel Ynys Môn Anglesey Museum and Art Gallery, Llangefni. Valley village has several pubs and varied shopping, including a market held behind the Bull Hotel every Thursday.
